Emma Van Lieshout
Audiologist
I grew up and went to school in London and Guelph, and I wanted to apply my background in science to a healthcare setting. After seeing my grandfather’s experiences with hearing loss and how impactful it can be on one’s quality of life, I chose audiology.
My typical day in the clinic includes performing hearing tests, fitting and programming hearing aids, troubleshooting issues people may have with their hearing devices, removing earwax impactions, and writing reports. I like to stay busy!
Helping our clients learn more about their hearing health and finding solutions to optimize it is so rewarding. Hearing well not only impacts your ears but also your communication skills and day-to-day experiences.
Outside of work, I like to go hiking and running, and I’ve been known to do a jigsaw puzzle or two. Fun fact: I was on the first women’s squash team at the University of Guelph!
