Evelyn Gartner
Clinic Assistant
I grew up in London, ON, and pursued a certificate in Fashion Design from Fanshawe College. I love helping people, and before joining the Beck Hearing team, I drove the handicapped transit for the Toronto Transit Commission, which built my strong belief in accessibility and access to the care that people deserve most.
Treva was building a team that believed in helping people beyond just hearing health – she asked me to join before she even knew what my role would be!
As Clinic Assistant, I work part-time in the Central clinic, managing inventory and maintaining a high level of cleanliness across all of our spaces. I also assist the admin team with special projects as they arise, and I represent Beck Hearing at offsite events and community clinics.
I love the people we see each day, both clients and staff; the variation in my work and moving around the office means every day is unique! I make sure that everyone who comes to visit us feels welcome and has everything they need to succeed, whether that be a cup of tea, a taxi, or information on our community resources.
Outside of work, I enjoy dragon boating, yoga, walking, weightlifting, and aquafit. I’m frequently seen hitching a ride on the back of my husband’s motorcycle as we ride to explore new places! I also enjoy cooking new vegetarian dishes to try at home.
Fun fact about me: I love to sew. I once brought my sewing machine to the clinic and hemmed everyone’s scrubs!
